This weekend, have a whale of a time at a puppet show, learn how furry friends keep your heart healthy, bond with your family over yoga and more.

Catch a puppet show in a whale’s belly
Journey through unexpected adventures with a puppet and his master in Pinocchio: A Whale of a Tale! Adapted from the timeless story of Pinocchio, the play blends song and dance to present an imaginative play about friendship, bravery, love and being true to yourself. The performance also has a strong environmental message – check out the whale’s belly which is made up of over 40,000 plastic bottles donated by children across Singapore. Suitable for children aged two to 10.

Have a paw-some day with mans best friend
Bring the kids and the family dog down to Woof-a-thon this Saturday! Learn about how having a dog does wonders for your heart at this annual event by the Singapore Heart Foundation. Highlights include a 2km Buddy Walk, health screenings for dogs, a CPR demonstration for dogs and humans, an adoption drive and a best-dressed pooch contest.

Do yoga as a family
After all that doggy action, take things down a notch with a relaxing family yoga session. Feel your worries melt away as you meditate amid the open space, lush greenery and wildflowers. After that, head over to the Water Playground nearby for some splashing good fun. Remember to bring lots of water and mosquito repellent! Admission is free and no registration is required.

Check out a flea market both you and Junior will love
Shop for pre-loved and secondhand threads at Zouk’s Flea & Easy, which is collaborating with indie pop-up flea market Sunset Pasar for this Sunday’s edition. Kids aged one to 10 get to enjoy facepainting and jumping on bouncy castles at ZoukiDisco at Phuture. Hungry after all that shopping and bouncing around? Grab some bites from Red Tail Bar and wind down the weekend with the open-mic sessions and DJ sets.

Enjoy an enchanting evening of ballet performances
Let the bold ballet performances in Masterpiece in Motion mesmerise you. Presented by the Singapore Dance Theatre, The Four Temperaments, Premiere by Edwaard Liang and Paquita make up the trio of works that represent the best of its repertoire.

Create a collage inspired by lacquer paint
In this drop-in activity organised by the National Gallery, your child will learn how to make a collage from different materials, inspired by the qualities of lacquer paint. Suitable for children aged four and above.
